INTERNATIONAL CAMELLIA CALENDAR

Camellia enthusiasts can find events -- conferences, shows and competitions, exhibitions, and so on -- throughout the year, somewhere in the world.   In the Southern Hemisphere, for example, sasanquas and other autumn-blooming camellias start flowering in April and May, and by August and September, the season is well underway for japonicas, reticulatas, and hybrids.  In the Northern Hemisphere, sasanqua season begins in October and lasts into November and December, by which time the flowering season is beginning for the spring bloomers.  We have tried to include the major camellia shows and events in each region, but there are frequent small, local shows in season in the different regions.  ICS directors and membership representatives can help you with information on these.

We hope that travelling camellia enthusiasts find this calendar a service:  check it before you travel, to see if there are any camellia events that coincide with your trip.  If so, you may be able to include them in your travel plans.

Societies and clubs, whether ICS or not,  are welcome to add events to this calendar.  Please send details to the web editor [pat.short "at" camellia-ics.org] and they will be promptly posted. (Please note the convention we use in an attempt to prevent spam being sent to e-mail addresses:  "at" = @.  So, for example, if  a name is shown as  bugs.bunny "at" looneytunes.usa , please type:  bugs.bunny@looneytunes.usa)
